I’m a big fan of investing in small cap stocks, so you may see me focus on them from time to time here. Small caps give you a great edge in investing. So today, I’m looking at the best performing stocks in the small cap arena—specifically, stocks that have doubled in the past 13 weeks.
Here are 5 small cap stocks that have at least 100% gains over the past 13 weeks:
- Acme Packet, Inc. (APKT) – This stock has explode over the past 13 weeks. It’s up just over 146%. The stock’s market cap is $1.52b and it was last trading at $25.03.
- Air Transport Services Group Inc. (ATSG) – Air Transport Services is currently a small cap stock with $339m in market capitalization. It’s trading at $5.36, which is a 131.62% increase from it’s stock price 13 weeks ago.
- Delcath Systems, Inc. (DCTH) – Another best performing stock with a huge 229% gain. It’s now trading at $12.34 per share. It’s down about 6.52% on the day, but that might be some profit taking. Yesterday, news was released about an uptrend in DCTH being spotted (gee, do you think?). Also on May 3rd, it was listed at one of the top 10 best performing medical equipment stocks for 2010.
- Graham Packaging Company Inc (GRM) – Let’s keep the ball rolling with this huge NYSE gainer. GRM is up about 357% over the past 13 weeks. Today, it’s up another 1.85% at $12.10 per share. KeyBanc just reiterated a “buy” rating on GRM yesterday, so this stock may still be heading up. It’s 52-week high is $13.52
- Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (KERX) – Traded on NASDAQ, this small cap stock is up 141% over the past 13-weeks. It’s up 6.82% today and trading at $5.95 per share. It was up to $6.50 per share the other day. It’s been featured in some recent news as well.
