7 Energy Stock Gainers for 2010

Energy stocks have been up and down this year. In fact, not may straight energy sector stocks are showing good gains over the past few months. But rest assured, I have a small handful of the best performing energy stocks for you to check out. There’s one large company doing well (BJS) and several micro cap stocks.

Here are 7 energy sector stocks that have gains in 2010:

  1. BJ Services Company (BJS) 6.81b market cap. It’s trading at 23.18 and is up about 9.55% in the past few months.
  2. ION Geophysical Corporation (IO) This micro cap stock is trading at $5.84, which is up 12%. It’s actually up about 3% today as well.
  3. Dorchester Minerals LP (DMLP) Slightly bigger gain, DMLP is up 24% in the past 13 weeks. It’s trading just under $26 and took a small 1.55% dip today.
  4. Macquarie Infrastructure Company LLC (MIC) $782m market cap and $16.40 per share. MIC is up almost 5% today and 23% over the past few months.
  5. Magellan Petroleum Corporation (MPET) This penny stock is up 37% and is trading at $2.02 per share. If you’re into penny stocks, this is one to research.
  6. CREDO Petroleum Corporation (CRED) Another micro cap that’s up—albeit smaller gains. It’s up a respectable 8% (1.55% today). CRED is trading at $9.18 per share.
  7. New Concept Energy, Inc. (GBR) This is a very small penny stock company. Their market cap is just $8.27 million. The stock price is $4.25 and that’s up 3.41% today and 9.6% over the past 13 weeks.

These stocks are all traded on NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX.
